The coastal town of Ochos Rios or ‘Ochi’ has all you need for a Caribbean holiday. It has been described as the centrepiece of Jamaica. It is situated on the north central coast of Jamaica and is the favourite stop for cruise ships in the Caribbean.

Jamaica is the largest English-speaking island in the Caribbean. It is 146 miles long and between 22 and 51 miles wide with around 2.5million people living here.  It is part of the British Commonwealth.

Jamaica is a very green and mountainous island with Blue Mountain Peak the tallest point at nearly 7,500 feet.

Ochos Rios is also known as the home of Dunn’s River Falls. This is a popular attraction visited by thousands of visitors each year. The Falls cascades down 600 feet into the sea. Fed by springs located in the hills above, visitors take pleasure in 'climbing' the falls as the water rushes around them.
But it isn’t all activity; you can come for rest and relaxation as well as the fun and excitement. For such a small island it has everything for couples wanting some time alone to families eager to get to know this wonderful culture.
As well as the lush vegetation the island is known for its beaches. One of these is the James Bond Beach.
Just 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ocho Rios itself James Bond Beach is a spectacular, beautiful beach surrounded by crystal clear water on three sides. So called because 007’s creator, In Fleming owned a villa not far away and regularly swam in this sea.

It is well for the fabulous fresh fish and seafood served at the Moonraker "Jamaican" Bar & Grill. If you are looking for a little more excitement, there are also the waverunner tours. The boat takes visitors past the famous Golden Eye, where Fleming wrote his novels, on past some of the homes of the famous and not so famous as well as breathtaking scenery.

Also worth a mention is the Island Village. This is Jamaica's newest attraction just minutes away from the Cruise Ship Pier in Ocho Rios. It has a boardwalk leading to natural spring lagoons framed by beautiful flowering trees.  There are shops and exhibitions and well as cafes. But you can also take it easy and relax on the beach.
